Who we are
Jeznee Lyons LAc, EAMP
I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. At sixteen, I enrolled in a series of energy awareness classes that introduced me to the human energy field, including concepts such as auras and chakras. These classes emphasized cultivating stillness within both mind and body, and developing focused awareness of the internal energy system to support overall well-being and vitality. In many ways, this experience became my foundation in self-connection, shaping the way I understand health and personal and spiritual growth. These classes set me up for a curiosity for energy medicine and how to help people heal in a safe and gentle way.
In later years I moved to Washington and found my way into an acupuncture office working as a receptionist. At the time I was experiencing a lot of high stress and anxiety. These emotional experiences led me to have physical symptoms, such as waking frequently, extreme jaw pain, tension headaches, and an overactive bladder. I decided to give acupuncture a try and within four to five treatments I felt significantly better. My ongoing external life stressors didn’t disappear, but my ability to manage and process my emotional landscape became easier. Acupuncture helped me feel safe and grounded in my body again. This experience led me to want to study Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) so that I may help others with this medicine the way it helped me.
I studied at Bastyr University and graduated in 2016 with a Masters degree in Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine. After graduation I studied continuing education classes in Japanese style acupuncture as well as trigger points injections and dry needling. Although TCM and dry needling are my main focus, I will occasionally utilize Japanese style for those who are extremely sensitive or fearful of needles.
Outside of my professional life, I lift weights a few times a week and spend my free time reading, listening to podcasts, or taking leisurely bike rides when the weather permits. I have a small garden where I grow vegetables and flowers. This is where my beloved cat and I hangout all summer long, lounging in the sunshine. Additionally, I am passionate about traveling and experiencing the beauty the world has to offer. Nothing beats the feeling of waking early, coffee in hand, listening to the many sounds of the tropical rainforest.
